Bury Wholefoods Chocolate Snap

Who doesn’t love a chocolate treat? We certainly do but we also know how important it is to eat well and stay healthy so when we need a little boost, instead of reaching for a sugar loaded chocolate bar, we head to the freezer for some of this delicious chocolate snap. Sprinkled with pumpkin seeds, sunflowers seeds and cacao nibs, it is loaded with antioxidants, vitamin E and fibre making it the perfect treat to nibble on and not feel guilty.  

It’s really quick and easy to make too.

Ingredients –

125ml organic coconut oil (if you are not keen on the taste of coconut you can use odourless coconut oil)

40ml maple syrup or agave syrup

65g organic cacao powder

1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt

1 tbsp organic cacao nibs

1 tbsp organic sunflower seeds

1 tbsp organic pumpkin seeds

(you can also add 1tbsp of dried organic berries such as raisins or goji berries for extra sweetness and nutrients)

Method –

1. Line a baking tray with If You Care Parchment Baking Paper

2. Melt the coconut oil. Whisk the coconut oil and syrup together

3. Quickly whisk in the cacao powder and salt

4. Spread over the baking tray

5. Sprinkle the seeds and cacao nibs (dried fruits if using) over the chocolate

6. Place in the freezer for 30 – 40 minutes

7. Once set, break into pieces and keep in the freezer in an airtight container

8. Enjoy!
